HP Officejet 8620 Pro
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an Officejet Pro 8620. Have been using it for quite a while without any problem. Since recently, Scans from my printer's ADF show a black vertical line, scans from flatbed do not. Cleaning several times did not help. Flashlight seems to show dot underneath the small scanner glass. Is this a possible cause and must it cleaned by a repair shop? Thank for an expert answer.

Yes even the smallest bit of debris can cause issues. If you lay the line copy face up on the glass the line on the page will align with the cause of the defect. These devices were not designed  with disassembly in mind  so you may or may not find a shop willing to take it on.

If you find the information provided useful or solves your problems, help other users find the solution easier by giving kudos and marking my post as an accepted solution.

Thans. Heaven knows … After another round of cleaning, the black vertical line is gone. Kudo.
