I understand you are trying to reinstall the searchable PDF scanning option for your HP Deskjet 4120e on Windows 11, follow these steps:

 

Uninstall the Existing Printer Software:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Select your HP Deskjet 4120e printer and click Remove device.
  • Open Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features and uninstall any HP software related to your printer.

Download and Install the Full Feature Software:

  • Visit the HP Support website and enter "Deskjet 4120e" in the search bar.
  • Download the latest full feature software and drivers for your printer compatible with Windows 11.
  • Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.

Install HP Smart App:

  • Go to the Microsoft Store and search for the HP Smart app.
  • Download and install the HP Smart app.
  • Open the HP Smart app and add your printer by following the on-screen instructions.

Set Up Searchable PDF Scanning:

  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • Click on the Scan tile.
  • Set the scan type to Document.
  • Select the option to save as a PDF.
