I have HP Smart Tank 795. I can’t scan to Email. 
I get this message:

An internal processing error has occurred. Try again or manually check the firmware updates.

 

Network is running good and i can see the printer on my network and iPhone when I try to print.

If you're encountering an error while trying to scan to email with your HP Smart Tank 795, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue:

1. Check Email Configuration

Ensure that the email configuration settings in the HP Smart app or printer's embedded web server (EWS) are correct:

  • SMTP Server Address: Ensure you have the correct SMTP server address for your email provider.
  • SMTP Port: Use the correct port number (e.g., 587 for TLS, 465 for SSL).
  • Email Credentials: Verify that your email address and password are entered correctly.

Network Connection

Ensure that your printer is properly connected to the network:

  • Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure the printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network and has a stable connection.
  • Ethernet Connection: If using a wired connection, make sure the Ethernet cable is securely connected.

3. Printer Firmware Update

Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date:

  • Go to the HP support website. Click here
  • Download and install the latest firmware for your printer model.

HP Smart App Update

Ensure you are using the latest version of the HP Smart app:

  • Update the app through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  • If using a computer, check for updates through the HP Smart app or download the latest version from the HP website.

5. Check Email Security Settings

Some email providers have security settings that might block email applications from accessing your email account:

  • Allow Less Secure Apps: Some email providers require you to allow "less secure apps" to access your email.
  • Two-Factor Authentication: If you have two-factor authentication enabled, you may need to generate an app-specific password for the printer.

Firewall and Security Software

Check if your firewall or security software is blocking the printer’s access to the internet:

  • Temporarily disable the firewall or security software to see if it resolves the issue.
  • Ensure that the printer's IP address is allowed through the firewall.

7. Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Configure scan-to-email settings through the printer's EWS:

  • Find your printer’s IP address (usually printed on a network configuration page or through the printer's control panel).
  • Enter the IP address in a web browser to access the EWS.
  • Navigate to the Scan or Email settings and ensure everything is correctly configured.

 

Test with Different Email Providers

Try using a different email provider to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is specific to your current email provider.
