Setting up Faxing on my OF3830

HP Recommended
Office Jet 3830
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I am a little technologically challenged, so looking for someone with patience to deal with someone like me.

 

I purchase this printer/fax/scanner over a year ago and very disappointed that it does not do what I thought it would do - or it seems that way.

 

I need to fax some important paperwork and really trying to figure out how this works.  I do not have a landline, but I do have a mobile phone that can take pictures of what I need to send, unless there is a way I can scan the documents to my computer and send the document by fax.  So, I am lost, first of all, to my options as follows:

 

Can I send a fax from my computer, which is hardwired to my OJ3830 without a landline? or

Do I have to send a fax from my mobile phone?

 

Unfortunately, your answer will result in next steps questions.

Hi @KitKat1644,

 

I'd like to help!

 

You will not be able to use the fax feature without a landline connection.

Alternatively, you can use the mobile e fax option to send a fax, refer to- Send Faxes with the HP Smart App
