I see the same Q being asked about 'why do I need to sign in to an HP account to do a scan'. having to sign in is so inconvenient for the user. I was unaware when I bought an HP printer that this is necessary. It seems to be a 'feature' of all HP printers. I wont be buying an HP printer for this reason in future and would advise no-one else to.

HP Recommended

If you install the full printer driver for printing and scanning you don't need to sign in to anything.
