Since upgrading to Big Sur OS on my mac mini, I've been unable to scan on my HP 2542 deskjet printer. I download the suggested HP fix from the website with the help of an AppleCare assistant. We spent over an hour on the download for all printers. Since there wasn't one specific to my printer. I don't think there is compatible software for the new Apple OS. Please advise how I can use my scanner again.
How will I be contacted? Is there an HP customer number?

Hi,
Please follow below version of HP Easy Start, as soon as it launches open the top HP Easy Scan menu and select Uninstall HP Software.
Follow the steps on screen and then click on Set Up New Device and follow the steps to reinstall the printer:

Hello. I followed the steps above and am still unable to scan. I opened the link, successfully uninstalled the software, and selected the new printer to install. However, when I got to the "install" screen I received the message "we were not able to automatically locate any software options for this product. Please go to the HP website and search for product solutions there." When I went to the website my operating system (Mac OS Big Sur 11.1) was not listed there. I did install the most recent version listed (10.0), but the printer still does not show any scanning functions on my mac

I have macOS Big Sur Version 11.1 on my iMac and I have HP office jet 4630. I downloaded HP Smart and can print finally. However, I cannot scan. I'm told Easy Scan is not available for Catalina and Big Sur is not mentioned. What can I do?
