HP Office Jet Pro 9020
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I scan a multi-page document with HP Scan, some pages appear upside down.  If you go then go to EDIT and try to rotate the upside down pages, only a part of the page turns around, leaving a complete mess.

I have tried rebooting the computer, rebooting the printer, removing and reinstalling the print driver, all to no avail.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

Try this:

1. HP Smart > Auto Enhancements > Orientation (Rotate pages right side up = OFF)

2. Scan

HP Smart Auto Enhancements Orientation OFF.png

If step by step help is needed, check out this example:

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the tip.  Unfortunately, it still scanned the middle pages (7-10) upside down.  Also, when you attempt to edit those pages and rotate them, it rotates 1/2 the page so half reads from the top-down and half reads from the bottom-up.

I have the same issue and the same result. I have tried everything to fix it. This seems to have been an issue in HP printers for a while.

I have a 9022. There is no logical reason why it should do this. I have a MACBOOK and if I use the scan feature in the MAC itself using this printer there is no problem. Come up HP you really should fix this. This is obviously a fault in your system somewhere.

I actually saw the help that said to turn the page orientation "ON", I checked it, mine was "ON" so I turned it "OFF".  It scanned perfectly!  No upside down pages!!  It was making the decision that my page was not in the correct orientation and moved it for me.  Problem solved!  (for me anyway!)  🙂

I have this same issue. I uninstalled the printer and driver, turned it off and on several times, turned off the setting you suggested and it still scans random pages upside down. It just started doing this within the past month or so. It even scans from the class upside down at times. It's all very random.
