In general, the "No Twain Compliant Device" error might mean that your printer (connected to your network and / or to your computer) is looking for -- and not finding -- the printer's full driver Twain software executable needed to complete the task.

Some third party programs do require a specific Twain executable.

Third party programs are those software programs you install on your computer for a specific purpose -- For example, Not-HP Scan or photo editing software packages

Select printers support specific types of full driver software packages -- some of these include a separate Twain executable.

Does your Windows full driver printer software include a separate Twain program?

HP Twain – Scan software

Differences TWAIN and WIA: 1. WIA uses a common dialog for all devices while TWAIN uses a dialog created by the device manufacturer. This gives a closer integration and control to the TWAIN driver giving more options and advanced features on the hardware (scanner) used.

Where available, HP Twain is part of the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.

After the Full Feature Software is installed,

If a separate (additional) HP Twain utility is included with your printer software,

HP Twain is available in the same folder as HP Scan.

Reminders

• Replace the sample printer name with your printer
• When installed, HP Twain also works with Irfanview software.

Example - Classic full driver printer software –

File name: TwainUtilityUI.exe

NOTE – New Format – Full Driver or HP Universal Scan Software

 After the Full Driver Printer Software is installed,

 Find the Twain Utility in the HP Scan folder
