HP ScanJet Pro 4500 fn1.  Has the issue regarding thick black bar/line on scanned documents been resolved?  Is HP replacing or repairing?  Second scanner we have had to have this same problem.  This scanner does not have many scan hours on it at all.

I have not checked recently but I have obtained second replacements for customers on this unit type.

Thank you for your response.   I contacted HP support yesterday and - surprise! - they are sending a replacement (certified-refurbished) unit.  The first scanner we had of this type had the same issue.  I called HP support at that time and was advised there was nothing they could do and we were forced to just discard the unit.   So I was very pleased to be offered the replacement at no additional cost.   This scanner is a bit pricey and as a school district we cannot replace office equipment every 18 months.  On a side note, we have an older HP LaserJet printer (10 years+) that is still going strong!
