Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Hello,
We have several MFP M570dn and currently we are migrating from on-prem mail server to MS365. We tried to setup Scan in MFP Default SMTP Configuration, following this articles, but each time we receive an error that username and password are incorrect, which is not the case...

We have success only when using Option 2: Send mail directly from your printer or application to Microsoft 365 or Office 365 (direct send) from this article: How to set up a multifunction device or application to send emails using Microsoft 365 or Office 365...
but this is not our preferred method as we don't want to be in risk setting public IP address in SPF record.
Please advice how to setup Scan to MS365 using authenticated connection.

These older models do not support MFA. If using an app password or setting system to only scan to internal email addresses do not meet your security needs, your option might be to configure scan to folder and have users forward attachments using the standard email client rather than directly from the printer.
