Microsoft Windows 11

I have downloaded the HP Smart application for Mac computers.  When I sign in order to utilize the scan, the message that I get a twirling circle and the following. message "Find the open browser Window, then sign in to your HP account.  The window might be behind another open browser or minimized".  I am very tech challenged and do not even what to do with that information.

Hi,

Let's click the Apple icon and select System Preferences.

Select General, in this screen make sure the default browser is set to Safari, if any other value is shown please change it.

Now try logging in to HP Smart once again.

If the same persists click the Apple icon and select Force Quit, then close Safari and try logging into HP Smart again. May you see any difference?

If the same persists, let's try selecting any other browser as default, such as Google Chrome or Firefox and check if you may then logon to HP Smart.
