Have a HP Envy 7640 and everything worked fine up until a few months ago.  When trying to scan from the printer I get what appears to be a common error on the HP Printers and that is "The Printer could not connect to Web Services."  Tried all kinds of things with no luck to correct this problem.  I can go onto the MAC and actually scan from the computer itself but can not scan from the printer. I run this on a MACOS Monterey 12.0.1

Thanks for any ideas.  If HP wants to jump in and say this is no longer supported from the scanner itself that would be ok.

Hi @OTRDiplomat,

I'd like to help!

I understand you are unable to scan from the printer and receiving a webservices error.

To assist better -

Are you trying to scan to email or scan to computer?

Have you installed the printer drivers?

Keep me posted.

I am not able to scan to either a computer or email address.  It use to work perfectly and all of a sudden it stopped not sure why it stopped.  I can bring the printer up on the MAC and scan from there and it works ok.  Pi can try to reinstall the software again to see if that changes anything.  Will reply when I do that.  Thanks

I checked and I can print from any device connected to the network such as iPad, iPhone and computers. They all print fine.  When I try to scan to a computer or email address is when they fail.  I checked the software and it appears I have the latest on the computers.  It does work on the local network just appears that it is not connecting to whatever server it needs to connect to send an email.  This is a MAC.

Try the below suggestions to enable web servers -

Restart the computer, printer, and router

To resolve many connectivity issues, restart the computer, printer, and router.

NOTE:

The following steps temporarily disconnect network and Internet connections, and require restarting your computer. Complete any tasks or downloads in progress before you continue.

Turn off the router by pressing the power button or disconnecting the power cord.

Turn off the printer.

Close all running programs on your computer, and then shut down the computer.

Press the power button or reconnect the power cord to the router, and then wait for the Internet activity light to display a normal connected status.

Turn on the printer.

Turn on the computer.

Try to turn on Web Services.

If the issue persists, continue to the next step.

Let's disable webservices and re-enable it

--->Touch on the wifi icon ((i)) on the printer, and take down the IP address

--->Open a web browser (ex Safari or Mozilla) and type in the printer's IP

---> click on webservices and remove webservices and re-enable it

If the issue persists,

Update the printer firmware

HP regularly releases printer updates. Updating the printer firmware might resolve the issue.

Refer -- HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Hope this helps!
