Hi @Steve12191,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When scanning a document with an HP printer and the pages are being saved as separate documents, you can adjust the settings to combine them into a single PDF or document file. Here are the steps you can follow to fix this issue:

Resolving Document Separation When Scanning

  1. Use HP Smart App:
  2. Edit Scan Settings:
    • Use the HP Scan software included with your printer and check the settings before scanning.
    • Look for the option labelled Combine all pages into a single file or similar, and ensure it is selected.

  3. Use HP Easy Scan for Mac (if applicable):
    • Open HP Easy Scan if you're using a Mac.
    • Go to Preferences and select Scan to computer settings, making sure to adjust file settings to save as a single document.

  4. Manual Combining Using PDF Software:
    • If your scanner software doesn’t support multi-page scanning to a single document, you might have to merge the scanned pages manually using PDF editor software.

  5. Check Printer Manual:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
