Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

When scanning from Envy 7640 to Mac (OS Ventura 13.0.1) the scan takes place but the pdf document is blank when opened on the computer. When following the same procedure and sending the scan to a windows 10 machine the pdf is fine.

Update the Mac OS

  1. From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen: Choose System Settings. ...
  2. If Software Update finds new software, click the Update Now or Upgrade Now button to install it.
  3. Enter your administrator password, if asked.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates

Here are the steps:- Click here

I found a workaround. Not a great one, but it lets me keep using my Envy 7640 with my Mac, at least for now.

 

1. Start the scan from the "HP Easy Scan" app, NOT from the scanner/printer.

2. When it's done, you should see the document preview in the Easy Scan app window.

3. In the menu bar for that app, choose "File / Print".

4. From the print dialog window, choose "PDF". This will prompt you for the location and file name for the PDF you want to create.

 

It works for me, hopefully for you, too.
