We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Hi when trying to print or scan from my HP Laser Jet 5258 the pages come out solid black.

I have no issue printing from the computer. It is only when copying or scanning when this happens.

Any corrective suggestions for me.

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

 

Can you try to power cycle the printer?

 

1. Power off the printer

2. Ensure that the Scanner Lid is closes completely

3. Wait for a 1min, then power on the printer

4. If copy and scan still produces the solid black output, then the scanner could be defective

 

Contact HP for support if the printer is still under warranty.
