When scanning a document to Image Capture v 7.0 (1106) the Overview scan looks fine.  When I actually scan to a pdf certain colours are changed.  White remains white, yet blue ink changes to red ink.  Red ink becomes light green ink.  It literally looks like things were written using a different coloured pen

Hi @Syedkhasim,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with color calibration or settings in either your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M226dw printer or in the scanning software. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

To Assist you better
May I know the operating system on your PC?

  • Check Printer Settings: Verify that your printer's settings are configured correctly for color scanning. Make sure that the color settings are set to standard or default values. You may need to consult the printer's user manual for specific instructions on adjusting color settings.
  • Software Settings: In the scanning software (Image Capture), check the color settings to ensure they are set to capture colors accurately. Look for any options related to color correction or calibration and adjust them as needed.
  • Calibration: Perform a color calibration on both the printer and the scanning software if possible. Many printers have a calibration utility that helps ensure accurate color reproduction. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to calibrate it.
  • Update Software and Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers and software updates installed for both your printer and your computer. Sometimes, software bugs or compatibility issues can cause color inaccuracies, and updating to the latest version may resolve these issues.
  • Test with Different Software: Try scanning the document using a different scanning software to see if the issue persists. This will help determine whether the problem is specific to Image Capture or if it's a more general issue with your printer or computer settings.
