Sorry but your answer is not acceptable. the need to connect me to HPSMART to scan a simple document, it's probably for HP to collect data what I do with my equipment.
I need to finish my HP ink cartdriges but after I will change for an other provider less intrusive.

The answer to "why does HP Smart require sign-in" has been removed.

Short Version:

Account sign-in using your HP Account credentials is required to use the HP Smart application.

The change was implemented at the end of 2020 for most regions.

What else?

If there were a full driver software solution available for your older OS X 10.6 Operating System version,

If the MacOS Built-in driver could be installed on your older OS,

(then)

You can use that solution.

It appears that the oldest supported Operating System version is MacOS 10.8

AND

For that version HP printer setup (Mac built-in driver)

HP Smart > Privacy Settings

The application privacy settings can be adjusted.

If HP Smart MacOS is similar to Windows,

then the settings are here:

Open HP Smart > Apps Settings (gear) > Privacy Settings > Manage my Privacy Settings
