Why do I have to connect log into the HP to perform a simple scan?

Why do I have to connect to the internet and log into the HP site to perform a simple task of scanning a document on my own printer?

I feel like it's an invasion of my privacy. If I want to scan a document, why do I have to sign in to HP to do so?

- You force me to register on the HP site to use a device that I bought and acquired with my money.
- You force me to have the printer connected to the internet to be able to do a simple scan of a document.
- You force me to have to log in to HP to be able to scan.

This will be the last HP printer I'm going to buy, when it's no longer useful I'm going to throw it away.

You need to download the driver for installation from hp.com and install the printer if you use HP smart the login and the internet are a must.
