I am trying to scan documents on printer scanner using HP Smart app but scan tile does not appear.  It has appeared in the past.

Here are the steps you can follow to restore the missing scan tile in the HP App for your HP Smart Tank 3002 printer/scanner:

 

Confirm Printer Connection

  • Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi‑Fi network as your computer or mobile device.
  • If using USB, make sure the cable is firmly connected.

Update the HP App

  • Open the Microsoft Store (Windows) or App Store (macOS).
  • Check for updates to the HP App and install the latest version.

Re‑add the Printer

  • Open the HP App.
  • Remove the printer from the app.
  • Add the printer again by selecting “Add Printer” and following the prompts.

Check for Driver and Firmware Updates

  • On Windows, open Device Manager and verify the printer/scanner is listed correctly.
  • Run Windows Update to ensure the latest drivers are installed.
  • On macOS, check System Preferences > Printers & Scanners and update if prompted.

Run Diagnose & Fix

  • In the HP App, go to Support Tools.
  • Select Diagnose & Fix to automatically check and repair issues that may prevent the scan tile from appearing.

Verify Scan Functionality

  • After completing the steps above, restart the HP App.
  • The scan tile should reappear. Test by scanning a document to confirm functionality.

If Still Missing

  • Restart both the printer and the computer.
  • Reopen the HP App and check again.

 

These steps usually resolve the issue when the scan tile disappears.
