Windows 11 update caused scan to email not to work

Once the windows 11 update was applied, i can no longer scan to email. Says password is wrong in hp printer, but nothing was changed.

This might be one of those times that a simple Restart can "fix" the problem:

Restart Everything, including the router that controls your network

EWS > Scan to Email

Printer supports SMTP Scan to Email as part of the Digital Sending package:

Digital Sending Standard Features

Scan-to E-mail; Scan to network folder; scan to SharePoint; Scan to thumb drive

Unfortunately, if the EWS > Scan to Email setup / Profile is no longer working for any reason,

You'll have to update / edit the Profile or perhaps even remove it and start over.

You likely know whether your email provider has restricted access to your email account via 2-Step Verification.

That said, if your email provider does require the App Password for third party apps, remember to use your App Password in the Profile in place of your regular email account password.

Printer Software - HP Scan > Email as PDF / Email as JPEG

If Windows Update nudged the mail client used with HP Scan, it might be harder to detect what has happened to Outlook.

In general, (Outlook) email client software might not be affected unless Windows updated your Office software.

Office 365 has its own rules about how it interacts with, well, everything.

Open the mail client software (Outlook) and make sure it can at least be used manually to send mail.

If all else fails and you have not already done so,

Uninstall the printer software > Restart the computer and log in > Install a fresh copy of the printer software.

Ask if you need help to reinstall the printer software and the Universal Scan Software.

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and log in

HP Smart - Windows - Scan content and "Share" to email

Windows Updates are usually pretty good about not stomping on other Windows applications.

Perhaps the Update interfered with Windows Mail -- if that is the case, it might be needful to open Windows Mail and make sure your account and password are still attached to the app and still usable.

Having to remove / re-add your email account to Windows Mail?

This might be one of those times you need to use the App Password in place of your regular email password -- Microsoft / Windows Mail might be considered a "Third party app" where the App Password must be used.
