Hi @docdbcooper,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding !

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Check Network Compatibility

  • The HP Photosmart 7520 supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks but NOT 5 GHz.
  • If your router has both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, ensure your printer is connecting to the 2.4 GHz network.
  • Try renaming your 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks separately in your router settings to avoid confusion.

2. Manually Enter the Wi-Fi Settings

  1. On the printer touchscreen, go to Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard.
  2. When your Wi-Fi network appears, select Enter Manually instead of choosing the auto-detected network.
  3. Enter the Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password carefully.
  4. Make sure the password is case-sensitive (capital letters must match).

3. Restart Devices in Proper Order

  1. Turn off the printer, router, and Mac.
  2. Unplug the router’s power cord for 2 minutes, then plug it back in and wait for it to fully restart.
  3. Turn on the printer and try connecting again.
  4. Turn on the Mac and check if it recognizes the printer.

4. Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

  1. On the printer touchscreen, go to Setup > Network > Restore Network Defaults.
  2. Confirm reset and try reconnecting to Wi-Fi using Wireless Setup Wizard again.

5. Update Printer Firmware

Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

6. Use WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) as an Alternative

  1. On the printer, go to Wireless > Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS).
  2. Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
  3. The printer should automatically connect.

If the issue persists, let me know what error message appears on the printer when the connection fails! 😊

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
