Hi @Jilly24,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Error code E5 on an HP Envy 6455E typically indicates a hardware issue with the printer. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a couple of minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again. This can sometimes reset the printer and resolve temporary issues.
  • Check for Jammed Paper: Open the printer cover and check for any jammed paper or foreign objects inside the printer. Remove any obstructions carefully.
  • Inspect Ink Cartridges: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and are not low on ink. Sometimes, improper installation or low ink levels can cause errors.
  • Reset the Printer: Perform a hard reset on the printer. To do this, disconnect the power cord from the printer while it is still turned on. Wait for about a minute, then reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
  • Update Firmware: Make sure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can usually find firmware updates on the HP website under the support section for your printer model.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
