Wrong printer - Black & White

My husband very kindly bought me a HP Laserjet MFP M28w printer, scanner, copier for my Christmas.  After setting this up and completing a test print I realised that the printer was black and white only and not colour. As an essential key worker, being a teacher, colour printing is a key component that I require.  I immediately got in touch with the seller through Amazon and they said they could not offer a return or refund unless the product was faulty.  I then asked if they would be willing to exchange the printer for an alternative colour printer, scanner, copier to which they provided me with 2 Cannon alternatives which were £40 and £60 respectively (which were significantly lower models).  Needless to say I am extremely disappointed.  I am now left with an black and white printer that is not fit for my essential worker needs and my husband is £160 out of pocket.  Is there any gesture of kindness here from HP to help with this situation.  The printer is fantastic, it’s just black and white.   This is an innocent mistake on my husbands part as he just thought all printers were colour nowadays.
