I go into HP Smart app and click "scan" then "scan to computer" and it says it is disabled.  So how the heck to do i enable it??  I don't see any options anywhere.  Reinstall drivers?  Thanks.

@edl50265, Welcome to HP Support Community!

If you have the drivers installed, follow the steps below-

  1. Search Windows for your printer model name, and click the printer name in the list of results. HP Printer Assistant opens.
  2. Click Scanner Actions, and then click Manage Scan to Computer.
  3. Click Enable to activate the scan to the computer option.

Try scanning.

Refer to the document HP Printers - How to Scan (Windows)  for additional help.

This did not work.  I even updated my Windows 10 software, deleted the 8030 software from my laptop, restored factory settings on the printer and tried all over again.  Still doesn't work.  It worked when I first set it up for a couple days, then quit working.  Do I need to return/exchange this printer??
