Trying to find out if my computer can use the scanner feature on my husband's printer that is connected to his computer.  I can print things but I am unable to scan from my computer.  My printer broke and I thought there wasn't any reason for me to get a new one if I could use my husband's that is a few feet away.  But if I can't scan then I may be forced to buy my own again because I don't want to have to get on his computer whenever I need to scan things.  If anyone can tell me how to make this work please tell me step by step.  His printer is the HP 8010e series.
