cannot sign in to hp account to troubleshoot scanner issues

I have an HP officejet pro 8020.  I cannot log in to my account to troubleshoot scanner issues.  My email is supposedly linked to it, because when I try to use it to create a new account, it says it already exists.  Well, when I try to reset the password, I never receive the verification code to my email. I've tried several times over the past couple days, and email never comes in.  Not to spam or junk.  So I'm stuck and cannot troubleshoot because this account is already linked to the printer/scanner.

In order to locate your account, please provide either your registered email address or your Instant Ink account ID or the printer serial number in a private message, and I'll look into this. 

To access your private messages, simply click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile name.
