Hi @lu106,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To change the resolution of scans on your HP ENVY 5530 to 150 DPI (dots per inch), follow these steps:

Open the HP Printer Software:

  • On Windows 8: Right-click an empty area on the Start screen, click All Apps on the app bar, and then click the icon with the printer's name.

  • On Windows 7, Vista, or XP: Click Start, select All Programs, click HP, click HP ENVY 5530 series, and then click HP ENVY 5530 series.

Access Scan Settings:

  • In the printer software, select the "Print & Scan" option.
  • Click on "Scan a Document or Photo".

Select Scan Shortcut:

  • Select the scan shortcut that matches your scanning needs. If no predefined shortcut exists, you can create a custom one.

Adjust Resolution:

  • For the selected shortcut, click "Advanced Settings.
  • In the "Advanced Settings" menu, look for the resolution setting.
  • Adjust the resolution to 150 DPI.

Apply Settings and Scan:

  • Click "OK" or "Save" to apply the changes.
  • Proceed to perform your scanning process using the adjusted settings.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
