Hi @jimscan40,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing issues with finding your printer, the Envy 6000e. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve the problem:

Check Physical Connections:

  • Ensure that all cables connecting the printer to the computer are securely plugged in.
  • Verify that the printer is powered on.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your computer.
  • Restart your printer.

Check Device Manager:

  • Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager."
  • Look for the category "Print queues" or "Imaging devices" and check if your printer is listed. If it has an exclamation mark, there might be an issue.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall the printer from your computer.
  • Download the latest drivers for your Envy 6000e printer from the official HP website.
  • Install the drivers and follow the setup instructions.

Check Wireless Connection:

  • If your printer is connected wirelessly, ensure that it is on the same network as your computer.
  • Print a wireless network test report from the printer's control panel to check its connection status.

Firewall/Antivirus:

  • Temporary disable your firewall and antivirus to check if they are blocking the communication between the computer and the printer.

Try a Different USB Port or Cable:

  • If your printer is connected via USB, try a different USB port on your computer and use a different USB cable if possible.

Check Printer Status:

  • Ensure there are no error messages or issues displayed on the printer's control panel.

Update Operating System:

  • Make sure your computer's operating system is up to date with the latest updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
