Our HP8702 quit in the middle of a print job, receiving wirelessly from laptop

Also tried from android, shows connected to printer wirelessly - shows print preview - but the 8702 simply does not print the job.

Tried to copy a document on the printer itself ... printer just shows "spin" cycle in the dialog window of the printer

Printer will print a diagnostic page

We have powered on and off.

We have tried the reset method by unplugging without powering off the 8702

We have cleared all ques in the computer

We have cancelled all copy and print jobs on the printer itself

Tried to copy a document laying a document on the document copy window under the top cover - nothing - just "spin cycle" showing copy in progress in the window

Did it simply "give up the ghost" it is about 5 years old.

Hi @ridinpreacher,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already tried several troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. If the printer is still not responding after performing these steps, it's possible that there may be a hardware problem with the printer itself.

Here are a few additional steps you can try.

  • Check for Paper Jams: Make sure there are no paper jams or obstructions inside the printer that may be preventing it from functioning properly.
  • Verify Ink or Toner Levels: Ensure that there is sufficient ink or toner in the printer cartridges. Low ink levels can sometimes cause printing issues.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model and install them if necessary. Sometimes updating the firmware can resolve various issues.
  • Reinstall Printer Drivers: Try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer drivers on your laptop and Android device. Sometimes corrupted drivers can cause communication issues between the devices and the printer.
  • Factory Reset: If none of the above steps work, you can try performing a factory reset on the printer. This will reset all settings to their default values and may help resolve any software-related issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
