envy 7858 scan issue

HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I can scan using the HP smart software on my computer, but I can't scan using the touch screen interface from the hp envy 7858.  I am connected to my computer using an USB cable.  When I do this I get this error message:

HP ENVY Photo 7858 printer, HP All In One Computer 24-f
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When trying to scan get the following get following error message on printer:

one or more of the following has prevented the scan from being completed:

The connection to the computer has been lost:

The4 scan application on the computer is currently in use:

An OCR application is not installed on computer:


I have updated the firmware and software and have extended scan installed.
