Hi @woodbro,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 all-in-one printer doesn't display the scanner option. There are a few troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the issue.

Check Connection:

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If you are using a wireless connection, make sure the printer is on the same network as your computer.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off the printer and the computer. Wait for a few minutes, then turn them back on. This can sometimes reset any temporary software glitches.

Update Printer Drivers:

Scan Using HP App:

Windows Scan Troubleshooter (For Windows Users):

  • Use the built-in Windows Troubleshooter to identify and resolve scanning issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot, then select "Printer".

Check for Errors:

  • Ensure there are no error messages or blinking lights on the printer's control panel, which might indicate other issues that could affect scanning.

Reset Printing System (For Mac Users):

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, right-click your printer in the list, and then click "Reset Printing System".

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
