Welcome to the HP Community --

What you can do depends on

A printer model that is capable of the task to create the document

AND

An application / software that is able to add / manage the type of edits you want to complete.

The printer is capable of scanning / printing the type of content you want to create.

If you are asking about editing the text part of the content in a PDF file,

You need to scan the content and then save the document as Editable Text

=============  IMPORTANT  ===========================

  • HP Smart can save scanned content as Editable Text if you have enabled the optional HP+ service contract.

  • HP+ is an optional service contract that adds premium scan and print features to HP Smart / HP App.

  • The contract is free but does come with both responsibilities and requirements for both HP and you - the customer.

  • Reminder >> An HP Instant Ink subscription is not required as part of the HP+ setup or the HP+ service contract.

Ask if you want / need information on HP+

===============================================

Next, you need software that can open and edit the saved Editable PDF document.

Such software is separate from HP Smart or the full driver printer software provided by HP.

OR

If you are asking about editing other characteristics of the scanned content, for example the color or shape, then HP Smart can Edit the content after it is scanned and before next actions (content is saved, shared, printed, or sent to Mobile Fax).

Example - HP Smart - Windows - Scan Document > Optional Edit > Save

HP_Smart_Win_Scan_Document_Save_16HP_Smart_Win_Scan_Document_Save_16
