@Miguelito3, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.

If you've scanned a document using your HP printer or scanner and you're unsure where it was saved on your Windows 10 PC, here are a few steps to help you locate it:

Method 1: Check the Default Scan Folder

  1. Open File Explorer (press Windows + E).
  2. Navigate to:C:\Users\<YourUsername>\Documents\Scanned Documents Replace <YourUsername> with your actual Windows account name.

This is the default folder used by HP Scan and Windows Fax and Scan.

Method 2: Use HP Smart App (if installed)

If you used the HP Smart app to scan:

  1. Open HP Smart. HP Smart
  2. Click on Scan > then Scan History or check the Recent Files section.
  3. You can also click Open Folder after scanning to see where the file was saved.

Method 3: Use Windows Search

  1. Press Windows + S to open Search.
  2. Type the name of the file (if known), or search for file types like:*.pdf *.jpg *.png
  3. Sort by Date Modified to find the most recent scan.

Method 4: Check the Scan Settings

If you still can’t find it:

  1. Open the scanning software you used (HP Scan, HP Smart, or Windows Fax and Scan).
  2. Go to Settings or Preferences.
  3. Look for the Save Location or Destination Folder setting.

You can change the folder here to something easier to remember for future scans.

I hope your issue is now resolved. If not, feel free to reply and we’ll continue helping until everything’s sorted!
