Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Have downloaded all the suggested drivers and apps to scam OCR.  Cannot do it.  We get a PDF image, but cannot edit it.   thanks for any help

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Disconnect printer/scanner from computer- Disable WLAN, WiFi and/or remove the USB or LAN cable.- Do not switch off the printer >> unplug the power cord from the socket!
  2. Uninstall HP printer software, and then remove the printer from your Devices list. 
  3. Restart the PC
  4. Close all programs
  5. download only this complete package: HP Universal Scan - Full Feature Software and Driver 
    Release date: Sep 23, 2022
    File name: Full_Webpack-51.7.5628-SJ0001_Full_Webpack.exe (410.8 MB)
    "Expand all", read
  6. Close all programs
  7. Reconnect the printer to the power supply and switch it on (if this does not happen automatically)
  8. Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the EXE
    Via USB, means wait until the installation asks to connect the printer/scanner.
  9. The installation was completed successfully, now you must ...
  10. Restart the System again
  11. Now the installation is complete.

Document error messages accurately, even better is to take a screenshot of it and upload here.
