Hi I'm trying to figure out why my scanner isn't functioning properly

when I load a page for scan it feeds fine but prints out a black page (wasting a TON of ink in the process)

I unplugged the power cord plugged the printer into 3 separate power outlets with no change

I installed the HP smart app and the scan doctor with both showing everything functioning normally

printing works fine but the scanner doesn't work

I even reinstalled the latest drivers and attempted to recalibrate the scanner only to be met with an error stating calibration couldn't be completed ensure you load a piece of blank letter so i tried with 3 separate pieces of paper to no avail

please help I don't want to waste any more ink!
