My scanner will not scan to computer but i can copy from scanner.

According to AI the 8120 is capable of scanning to the PC quote:

 

Yes, you can push a button on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8120 to scan directly to a PC, but you need to set it up first by installing the full software and enabling "Scan to Computer," then selecting your PC from the printer's control panel and pressing the green send button to start the scan.

 

I have not done the above and do not have your 8120 model.   My HP CM1415 only has scan to USB.

Unfortunately, looking at page 33 in the user manual, I do not see a walk-through or a detailed explanation on how to do this and the AI is not always right.  I assume you will have to setup a shared folder and provide the PC's credentials so the printer can log in and deposit the scan there

 

It is much easier to click the "scan" button on the PC and have the PC ask for the result of the scan.

 

Download and install the full feature drivers from here.

Select 64bit OS and click the "Open All" button.
