Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Use a compatible scanning app to scan.

  • HP Scan and Capture app: Use this free app available from the Microsoft Store to scan photos or documents.

Go to Installing and Using HP Scan and Capture (Windows 10) for more information.

  • Windows Scan app: Use this Windows app to scan from most HP all-in-one printers.

Search Windows for Scan, and then click the Scan app  in the list of results.

  • Windows Fax and Scan: Use this pre-installed tool to scan photos and documents.

Search Windows for fax, click Windows Fax and Scan in the list of results, and then click New Scan.

Note: HP Solution Center is a printer management program for HP printers manufactured before 2010. HP Solution Center does not work when Flash software is not active on your system. Because Flash is no longer supported by the industry, HP Solution Center is also no longer supported.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

HELP! I have downloaded and installed HP Scan and Capture - twice. It gives me the choice of choosing my laptop camera and my HP C309 printer, but when I choose the printer and says it can not be found.  I am about to use the HP printer as an anchor and go buy something that works.  BTW my HP SOlution Center worked up until about 3 hours ago and decided to quit while I have VIP papers to scan and return b4 morning.  I need this fixed ASAP
