Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

my shortcut for the scanner dissapeared from my desktop. I tried to download the package, but it still is not on my desktop. I cannot access the scanner. I tried to deleate the printer, but it will not let me.

Welcome to the HP Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, there's an issue while scanning.

 

Don't worry, I'm here to help! 

 

Let's try these steps -

 

Solution# 1 HP Print and Scan Doctor -

 

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor from here.

 

Solution# 2 Re-install the printer drivers -

 

1) In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program". 
2) Look for HP Printer software. 
3) Right-click to uninstall. 
4) In the search box, type
and open “Devices and printers”. 
5) In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”. 
6) Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.  
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”). 
8) Click on the "Drivers" tab. 
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom. 
10) Select Ok. 
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows. 
12) Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed. 
13) Restart the computer. 
14) Download and install the software and drivers from here.

 

Solution# 3 Add "Scan" to the shortcuts -

 

1) Search Windows for HP Solution Center, then click HP Solution Center in the list of results.
HP Solution Center opens.
2) Click Settings, click Scan Settings, then select Scan to...Setup.
3) In the Scan to...Setup window, select an available scan shortcut, then click Add to add the shortcut to the Front
panel list (Scan to button) window.
