We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

My printer will print copies from my computer and phone. But it will not Scan documents or make copies of originals placed on the glass. Windows Fax & Scan says no scanner has been detected.

Thank you for posting your query.

 

Power Reset

  • Turn off the printer while it’s on.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall for 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and power on. This clears hardware initialization errors.

Reinstall Drivers

  • On your computer, remove the printer from Printers & Scanners.
  • Download and install HP Easy Start or the Full Feature Software and Drivers for the 8025e from HP Support.
  • Re-add the printer, ensuring the scanner component installs.

Test with HP Smart App

  • Open HP Smart on your PC or phone.
  • Try scanning from there.
  • If HP Smart detects the printer but scanning fails, it’s likely a hardware fault.

Windows Fax & Scan Issue

  • If Windows Fax & Scan says “No scanner detected,” it means the driver isn’t exposing the scanner.
  • Reinstalling the HP driver package usually fixes this.
  • Make sure you’re not using the “Generic” driver.

Firmware Update

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup → Printer Maintenance → Update Printer.
  • Install any available firmware updates.
