Try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
Check Paper and Settings:
- Ensure that there is enough paper loaded in the input tray.
- Verify that the paper settings in the printer menu match the paper loaded.
Restart the printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
- Wait for 60 seconds and then plug the power cord back in.
- Turn on the printer and try making a copy again.
Clean the scanner glass and ADF:
- Lift the scanner lid.
- Clean the scanner glass and the white backing with a lint-free cloth moistened with glass cleaner.
- Close the scanner lid and attempt to make a copy again.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the printer and turn it on.
- Check if the copy function works.
Update or Reinstall Printer Firmware:

Check for error messages:
- Look at the printer's control panel for any error messages or codes. Follow any instructions provided or search for the specific error code on the HP Support website.
