If your HP OfficeJet 5740 scanner is not installed or not appearing as an option, follow this step-by-step guide to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Network Connection

  1. Ensure your printer is connected to the network.
    • Make sure the printer and your computer or mobile device are on the same network.

Enable Web Services

Verify that Web Services are enabled.

  • On the printer control panel, touch the HP ePrint icon or navigate to Web Services Setup, Network Setup, or Wireless Settings.

Enable Web Services, if not already done.

Using HP Smart App

Use the HP Smart app to add your printer.

  • Download the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Open the app and add your printer by following the on-screen instructions.

Check for Scanner Option:

  • From the HP Smart app home screen, select your printer and navigate to the scanner options.
