my scanner is limiting the size and won't allow a complete document to be sent in my email

Help.  I'm trying to send a 9 page document and the scanner and my email is saying it is too large to send in my email

Email providers dictate what they allow to be sent through their email services, including the size of that content.

You might try scanning at a lower resolution to reduce the overall size of the content you want to send.

True - The scanner / printer can (does) limit the size of the scanned content as do the various email providers.

In general, at least the following might contribute to the size of scanned content and the success or failure of the scan task --

• The scan resolution - the higher the resolution, the larger the data
• The size of the memory in the printer -- Larger OfficeJet and mid-range Laser printers include more robust (larger) onboard memory.
• The amount of resource supported by the connection type between the printer and the network
• The amount of resource available on the device (computer, tablet, phone) that is receiving the Scan content before it is shunted to Email -- Scanning is resource intensive.
• For scanned content that will be sent to its destination via email, first connection to the device sending the data and next the email provider control how much, how large, how quickly, and even whether the email servers will accept any content.
