Steps to Set Up HP Digital Fax

1. Prepare for Setup

• Ensure your fax-capable HP printer is connected to a telephone landline or digital telephone service.
• Install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.

2. Access Digital Fax Settings

• Open the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS):
  • Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer’s settings.
  • Find the IP address listed on the page.
  • Enter the IP address in a web browser to access the printer’s settings.

3. Enable Digital Fax

• In the EWS, go to Fax Setup > Advanced Settings > Digital Fax Setup.
• Choose one of the following options:
  • Digital Fax Archive (saves faxes to a network folder).
  • Digital Fax to Email (for forwarding faxes to an email address).

4. Configure Destination

• If saving to a network folder, ensure it has full read & write access.
• If using email, enter the recipient’s email address and configure SMTP settings.

5. Finalize & Test

• Save the settings and restart the printer.
• Send a test fax to confirm the setup is working.
