not saving edits after editing a scanned doc
10-29-2020 08:08 AM

after editing a scan and click done button the document does not save the changes

Are you using the latest installation / version of HP Smart for Windows?
Did you "clear and set" the edit(s) in place on the document page and Save the updated document / changes?
For example,
Select Preset type "Document"
Scan the document
Click to Edit the scanned content
Select your page (for editing)
Select your edit type (Crop or Add Text, for example)
Example
Add Text to the document, select the "Add text" entry in the right column to add text,
Select your font size, color, and click the pen.
Resize and move the text box.
Enter the text in the box.
Click "Yes" to accept the text,
Click away from the text box to "clear and set" that edit.
When edits on the page are complete, click Done
Click "Save" the scan after edits are complete - confirm and note the file name and LOCATION (folder).

You are welcome.
Sure. Do that.
What?
The problem, if you are even using HP Smart, can likely be resolved if the application is working correctly.
Removing and Reinstalling is, in fact, one of the few options we can offer - the application is "self-contained".
There is little to be done when it stops working as it ought.
One of the methods to ensure the app is working as expected is to repair or reinstall the application.
What else?
If you have not done so, Run Windows Updates to make sure those are current.
General comments
Unless "what you were told" is dangerous, many here do not tend to get into a "he said - he said" conversation. It is generally not useful to challenge unknown players. Personally, I do not intend to challenge anyone for the right to tell you something "different". Doing what you think is best is part of the joy of being your own boss. Smiling.
Run Windows Updates to make sure those are current.
Remove/reinstall - or ,at the least, Reset - the application.
Settings > Apps > Apps and Features
Scroll or search for HP Smart
Left-Click on the app name
Advanced Options > Reset, Repair, Uninstall
