@gibo22, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The issue you're experiencing where your HP printer asks for a "Recipient Fax Number" when printing from your laptop but not from your phone is likely due to the wrong printer driver or print queue being selected on your laptop. Here's how you can fix it:

Why This Happens

Your laptop might be sending the print job to the Fax driver instead of the Print driver. Many HP printers install both a "Fax" and a "Printer" version during setup.

How to Fix It

Step 1: Check the Printer Selection

  1. Open any document and press Ctrl + P to print.
  2. In the Printer dropdown, make sure you select the one that says HP [Model Name] Printer and not HP [Model Name] Fax.
  3. Try printing again.

Step 2: Set the Correct Printer as Default

  1. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Find your actual printer (not the fax version), click it, and choose Set as default.

Step 3: Remove the Fax Printer (Optional)

  1. In the same Printers & scanners menu, click on the Fax version of your printer.
  2. Click Remove device.

Step 4: Update or Reinstall Drivers (if needed)

If the issue persists:

  • Open Device Manager > Print queues.
  • Right-click your printer > Update driver.
  • Or uninstall and reinstall the printer using the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
