Hi @Daniel-1317,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer can copy, scan, and print from a cell phone but not from your PC, the issue may be related to the PC's software or connectivity settings. Here are some steps to help troubleshoot and resolve this problem:

Step 1: Make Sure the PC and Printer Are on the Same Network

Your PC must be connected to the same Wi‑Fi name as the printer.

Sometimes computers quietly connect to:

  • Guest networks
  • 5 GHz while the printer is on 2.4 GHz
  • A mobile hotspot

Just check that they match.

Step 2: Restart the Windows Print Spooler

This is the quiet but powerful “traffic director” for printing.
When it gets stuck, the printer won’t receive jobs.

  1. Press Windows + R
  2. Type: services.msc
  3. Find Print Spooler
  4. Right‑click → Restart

You may hear a soft click from the printer; that’s a good sign.

Step 3: Remove and Re‑Add the Printer in Windows

This resets broken print paths.

  1. Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & Scanners
  2. Click your HP printer → Remove
  3. Restart your computer
  4. Open HP Smart
  5. Tap Add Printer
  6. Let the app reconnect it fresh

This rebuilds the connection between the PC and the printer.

Step 4: Check if the Printer Is Paused or Offline

  1. Open Control Panel → Devices and Printers
  2. Right‑click your HP printer
  3. Make sure:
    • Use Printer Offline is not checked
    • Pause Printing is not checked

If either one is enabled, Windows will silently block printing.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
