Restart Printer and Computer

Sometimes a simple restart can resolve scanning issues:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Update Printer Drivers

Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed:

  • Go to the HP Support website.
  • Search for your printer model (HP DeskJet 2700e).
  • Download and install the latest drivers and software updates.

Check Scanner Software

Make sure you are using the correct scanning software, such as HP Smart or HP Scan:

  • Open HP Smart or HP Scan on your computer.
  • Ensure the printer is selected and properly connected in the software.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

HP has a tool designed to diagnose and fix printing and scanning problems:

  • Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and resolve the scanning issue.

Perform a Printer Reset

Resetting the printer can help clear any temporary issues:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and wall outlet.
  • Wait about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and printer.
  • Turn the printer on.

Verify Scan Settings

Ensure your scan settings are correctly configured in the scanning software:

  • Open your scanning software (HP Smart or HP Scan).
  • Check the scan settings, such as resolution, paper size, and destination folder.
  • Make sure the settings are appropriate for what you are trying to scan.

Check for Firmware Updates
