Hi @imf1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Yes, you can scan documents and print them to a file on an HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 printer, but the specific steps may vary slightly depending on the software and operating system you are using. Here's a general guide on how to do it.

  • Place the document: Put the document you want to scan into the scanner's document feeder or onto the scanner glass.
  • Open scanning software: On your computer, open the scanning software or the HP printer software that came with your printer. This software might be called HP Smart, HP Easy Scan, or something similar.
  • Select scan options: Choose the scanning options you want, such as color, resolution, file format (e.g., PDF), and where you want to save the scanned file.
  • Start the scan: Initiate the scanning process. Your scanner will digitize the document and save it to the location you specified.
  • Print to file: After the document is scanned and saved, you can print it to a file by opening the scanned document and selecting the print option. In the print dialog box, choose "Print to File" or "Save as PDF" depending on your operating system.
  • Specify file name and location: Give the file a name and choose where you want to save it on your computer.
  • Print to file: Click "Save" or "Print" to save the scanned document as a file on your computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Okay , now I have the files

but.. is there any workaround for not having the scanner scan a 2 sided document ?

the 6968 will copy a 2 sided document ,

so can you copy to a file?

thank you in advance for your thoughts!
