Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The printer display is stuck with the message "Document Feeder Jam".  However, there are no paper jams.

This message will not clear. 

Because the message will not clear, it will not let me copy a document or scan a document (from the printer).  Even when trying to scan from the computer, the message "Scanner Document Feeder is Jammed" appears and prevents me from continuing.

The HP Print & Scan Doctor shows "Device Error Detected" "Document Feeder Jam".  And offers no solution other than thoroughly checking for a paper/document jam.

The device prints ok.

Any suggestions on how to clear this?
