HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hello,

I have two scanners:

HP OfficeJet Pro 6970

HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw

The 6970 has the option "Scan to Computer" and it works just fine. I have to start "HP Easy Scan" first and the scanner finds my Mac and I can easyly scan any document directly from the Touch Interface to my Mac. With the "HP Utility" Software I even have a menu item "Scan to Computer" for the 6970.

I just bought the M479fdw and wanted to get rid of the 6970. But the M479fdw does not find my Mac - and I don't understand why. The "HP Utility" only shows "Scan to Email" and "Scan to Network" and does NOT have an entry "Scan to Computer". The Touch Interface on the M479fdw does have an entry item "Scan -> Computer" but it does not find my Mac.

Can anyone help me? I think its weird that the HP Utility doesn't even have this option? Does the M479fdw not support Macs with "Scan to Computer"?!

I am using macOS 10.15.7 and HP Easy Scan 1.10.0

Kind regards

Eike
